Goa: The kingdom of Goa is the most important tourist destination in India…It is civilized, having famous orchards and water. It is the coolest place in India and it is the most plentiful in foodstuffs.
The white people make a practice of going to the kingdom of Goa to enjoy the shade and the groves of trees and to savour the sweet betel.’ The traveller is here to find something different: a balm on the busy mind, to enjoy days of freedom on Goa’s magnificent beaches, to parasail or swim with the tide of fellow visitors from all around the globe, to savour its unique cuisine and imbibe its spirits, to take a long and invigorating trek in its unexplored interiors, to marvel at its majestic temples and churches, in short, to be at one with the most friendly people in the country.
Weather in Goa: The period from October to February is very pleasant for tourists with normally clear skies. During this period the sea condition remains normal and affords a pleasant stay in Goa for the tourists.
In and Around Goa:
Se Cathedral: the most imposing of all the churches at Old Goa, its vaulted interior overwhelms visitors with its sheer grandeur. This Cathedral has five bells, among them the famous Golden bell, the biggest in Goa and one of the best in the world. The church is dedicated to St.Catherine of Alexandria.
Calangute: Calangute is the most popular beach with thousands thronging it in both the peak and off-season. The waves rise high above as you wash away your city blues, though swimmer need to be a trifle cautious because of the sudden drop and the rising waves. Experienced swimmers will, however, revel in the seas here. This long, seven-km sweep of sand located 15 kms from Panaji, is called the 'Queen of Beaches'.
Palolem: Palolem is a cosy beach of white sand facing a blue bay between two headlands. The little wooded islands on the northern headland look alluring and you could try and persuade one of the fishermen — this is also a fishing beach — to ferry you across. They also offer to take you out to spot dolphins. Tourists have of late discovered Palolem and so there are quite a few shacks selling seafood snacks, souvenirs and clothes of the bright, informal kind.
Savoi Plantations - Spice of Life: Located at Savoi Ponda, 25 kms from Panaji and 15 kms from Ponda, it is one of the oldest tropical plantations. With intercropping of spices with coconuts, betel nuts, pineapples and other fruits. Experience typical Goan Hindu cuisine served in mud pots and banana leaf. En route to the plantation one can visit a cashewnut factory and Ananta temple, submerged partly in water.
Dudhsagar Waterfalls: 10 kms from Colem Railway Station, these majestic falls are accessible by train. Water plummets hundreds of feet in a milky foam in one of Goa’s most spectacular sights which is also a lifeline to the ecosystem of the Bhagwan Mahavir sanctuary.
Entertainment in Goa:
Casino:Goa is synonymous with fun, adventure, frolic and nightlife. The erstwhile Portuguese state has emerged as one of the most visited tourist destination in India and offers a broad spectrum of activities including gambling. The Casinos of Goa are reflective of the fun and vibrant nightlife. Goa is home to some of the finest casinos in India and offers best of casino gaming, both on land and off shore.
Go Karting: If you want speed, there’s nothing quite like go-karting which is the latest craze in Goa. The thrill of getting behind the wheel of a four-wheel drive cannot be explained. You get the works, squealing tyres, burnt rubber and the adrenaline rush of the true racingenthusiast. Young and old alike relish this sport, which lets you race around in two or four stroke engine karts. It combines the thrill of fast vehicles with sharp turns and collisions.
Water Sports: Windsurfing, paragliding, jetskiing, or just swimming, water sports is yet another reason why people come back to Goa again and again. Today there are a number of water based sports and activities available in Goa. The best season for enjoying water sports in Goa is from October to May when the skies here are cloudless and blue, and the waters fairly placid.
Bird watching potiential in Goa: Goa with its diverse habitats in a small area of land is attracting many enthusiastic and serious bird lovers. With every nook, corner and places of ornithological interest easily accessible by road and within driving distance, Goa is becoming increasingly popular not only for its Sun, Sand and the Beaches but also for its Avian fauna.
Getting around in Goa:
By Road:The Kadamba Transport Corporation runs long distance services throughout the state from their main stands at Panjim, Mapusa and Margao and from locations in the adjoining states of Maharashtra and Karnataka.
By Rail: The Konkan Railway makes Goa easily accessible by rail from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Mangalore, Ernakulam, Thiruvanthapuram. Goa is also linked to Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune via Londa.
By Air: All the major airline services have daily flights to Goa from Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune and twice a week from Chennai and Kochi. International service airlines also connect Goa with Kuwait and Sharjah twice a week from the Panaji International Airport.

Xian

Weather in Xian:Xian weather is mild with clear four seasons - a warm but uncertain spring, a torrid and wet summer, a cool and rainy autumn and a dry and cold winter. The all-year average temperature is 13.5 C. The pleasant April and May as well as the cool September and October are the ideal time to visit Xian.
Attractions in Xiant:
Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses: At the mention of the great number of Xian attractions, terracotta soldiers always come as the first. Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses unfolded a strong army of altogether 7,000 life-size pottery soldiers, horses, chariots and weapons arranged in battle formations symbolically, guarding the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. The grand Mausoleum of the first emperor of Qin and the warriors and horses buried in loess for over 2,000 years amaze every visitor there.
The Bell Tower: The Bell Tower plays absolutely as the central landmark of the city, from which four most prosperous commercial streets stretch towards the east, west, south and north. As another must to every Ming city, the Drum Tower stands nearby in the west of the Bell Tower. Time has passed along with the bell at dawn and the Drum at dust sounding everyday. Now, they are outstanding examples of the ancient architecture of Xian.
Great Mosque of xian and the Gaint Wild goose Pagoda: The Great Mosque in Xian is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in China and its location is northwest of the Drum Tower. In Xian, it is really well worth a trip to see the Great Mosque, not only for its centuries-old history but also for its particular design of mixed architecture - traditional Muslim and Chinese styles. Giant Wild Goose Pagoda or Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a Buddhist pagoda located in southern Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China.
Mount Taibai: Mount Taibai is a mountain located on the border between Mei, Taibai and Zhouzhi counties in the south west of Shaanxi Province, China. The mount's highest point, Baxian Tower , rises to a height of 3767.2 meters and is the tallest in the Qinling Range, as well as the watershed between the Han River and Wei River. Mount Taibai is also the highest mountain in Eastern China.
Cuisine in Xian: Shaanxi Cuisine, also known as Qin Cuisine, is the representative culinary achievement in the northwest China, especially due to Shaanxi's geographical location in the center of China, various kinds of materials deriving from both north and south China are adopted by Shaanxi Cuisine.

By Air : The airport is located 13 kilometers to the northeast of Xianyang City and 47 kilometers to the northwest of Xian City.

Activities in Nagarahole:
SAFARI:The evening and morning jeep safaris are the high point of every visitors stay. Each drive into the National Park takes about 3 hours and covers about 80 km of forest roads and game tracks. A fleet of low noise green vehicles along with experienced spotters take time to show you the giant Malabar Squirrel or Serpant Eagle perched on the tree canopy or a herd of Sambar at a distant salt pit or the pug mark of the Tiger near a water hole or game track.
BIRD WATCHING: The National Park has about 250 species of birds and serious bird watchers can drive slowly through the park to watch these feathered bi-peds. With special permission from the park authorities and during selected seasons, a jungle trek could also be arranged. An early morning walk inside the resort premises could also be a rewarding experience.
EXCURSIONS: For those planning a longer vacation, excursions to nearby Tibetan settlements at Bylekuppe and Gurupura are interesting half day outings. Bylekuppe, 50 kms from the resort, is the second largest Tibetan settlement outside Tibet, complete with a Tibetan monastery with 7000 monks,a Tibetan village and a flea market.

By Air: The nearest airports are Bangalore, Mangalore and Calicut (in Kerala).

By Road: The Kings Sanctuary is approachable only by road. From Bangalore it is a 200 kms drive ( about 4 hours), from Mysore it is just 65 kms away or an hours drive.
